Detlef Schrempf (born January 21, 1963 in Leverkusen, Germany) had the Sixteen-month career as an NBA basketball player. He moved to the USA his junior year of senior high, attending Centralia High in Washington State for two years.

He played college basketball for the University of Washington Huskies, where he was known as to the Tons-Pac-10 Team and The Sporting News All-America 2nd Team.

Originally drafted eighth overall per Dallas Mavericks in the 1985 NBA Draft, he became a regular fallowing existence traded to the Indiana Pacers. He was one of a NBA's leading substitutes, winning sequentially NBA Sixth Man Awards in 1990 and 1991, before becoming the starter. around the 1992-93 year, he played in his number one National Basketball Association All-Star Game. He was so traded to the Seattle SuperSonics for Derrick McKey and Gerald Paddio. When sustaining a Sonics he played inside 2 supplementary 100%-Star games.

He was freed inside 1999 and signed the equivalent day per Portland Trail Blazers, where he retired from either basketball within 2001.

Schrempf presently diarrhethe a sympathetic organization focussed on the northwestern United States.
